Records document the period Rodney Nelson was editor and includes newspaper clippings and legal documents from 1978 to 1983. The general correspondence covers requests to Nelson for information concerning the magazine, authors, etc. There is also subscription correspondence. Grant request are to a number of groups requesting funds to help publish DAQ. Other materials include the manuscripts for the unpublished 18th issue, financial records from 1980 to 1982, and mailing lists.

Rodney Allen Nelson was born in 1941 at Fargo, N.D. He grew up at Fargo and Christine, N.D. After high school he attended several colleges without taking a degree. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 1960s. After military service he lived in San Francisco, involved in the anti-Vietnam War protests. He traveled extensively and began to write poetry, articles, plays and fiction.
